Meals alone, walking the dogs in the evening; and nobody knowing who I was.
Ecstasy. From the Greek ekstasis. Meaning not what you think. Meaning not euphoria or sexual climax or even happiness. Meaning literally: a state of displacement, of being driven out of one’s senses.
Never judge someone. Especially if you don’t know them, because you don’t know what they’re going through. And for all you know, your words could be the last thing they hear before they decide they have had enough.
You’re not a bad person for the ways you tried to kill your sadness.
